While she was here, we went off on an StC fangirling fit which was great because every time she and I do so, I learn more about the characters and the comic and the stories. And I -LOVE- them. @_@ They're incredible.
Anyways! I've actually known that my favourite character from the comic winds up killed in a later issue (one I don't have) from before I really started reading, which is distressing but... it doesn't stop me from adoring Johnny Lightfoot in the slightest. He's so squishy! ^0^ <.<; <3<3
What was the most heartbreaking for me, I think though, wasn't that Johnny died. It was the way it wrecked Sonic. I haven't read all the issues yet but from what Orin has told me, Sonic is never the same after. Which isn't surprising. He and Johnny were really good friends.
I drew this while she was here and we were off on a bit of a Sonic/Johnny tangent, but nevermind that. This doesn't have to be slashy in the slightest so thpthphth.
Johnny, comforting a devastated Sonic. Because even though he's gone, you know Johnny would never leave his teammates and friends behind. Not for anything.
Done in about 2 and a half hours in Painter 7 with text and border added in Photoshop 7. (NEW RECORD! WHEE!)
Omg Johnny, I recognised him before seeing the StC title
It was very sad when he died, it came totally out the blue but the tribute to him in the final comic I think will always be remembered in an odd way. Sonic did indeedy snap, Amy had nightmares about it to a lesser extent for a halloween StCo I miss the awful puns he came with so much.
To cease my ramble, I love the piccy, particarly the wings. Sure if Johnny was a real dead person over a comic dead hare/rabbit, he'd love it too
Poor Sonic, though. Nice of his friend to come back from the afterlife to provide a little bit of comfort. Beautiful colors! I love the soft smoothness, and the detail is wonderful. The folds on his clothes look great! I like how they're both surrounded in a warm sandy aura, but Johnny's got his own little white one, too.

Chaos: I absolutely love it. ^^ I haven't had the chance of reading the comic myself, but I know of it - Johnny sounds so nice. >.< And this picture is lovely and shiny and full of emotion~ Great job!
(Did you once say you weren't great at digital colouring? Ppghthbgh?)
Oh and by the way, from now on I'm not allowed to say 'well, I'll just add a little colour and shading and see what happens?' to a sketch never designed for it. Because Noir and Keiun are laughing at me. @_@
You should see them soon though, hopefully!
I haven't gotten to read all the way to the last one, yet. That's an awful lot of comics to read and I like doing other stuff, too. <.< XD <3<3 But I'll get there eventually! =O
And thank you! It's good to know people recognized him when they saw him. =3 <3<3<3
Strangely enough, that sandy colour was the colour I painted on. I added the dark afterwards. You can get a really nice soft aura that way. Then, of course, I added a bit of white around Johnny since he's supposed to be all angelic/spirit-like and stuff.
