You never knew me, but I knew you.

And once upon a time you saved the life of a broken little fifteen year old girl who was about to do something very very stupid. What caused my cassette player to suddenly start playing all by itself I will never know... maybe it was my guardian angel... but your voice is what I remember most starkly, suddenly singing 'You Are Not Alone'. I cried hard then. I'm crying hard now.

You never knew me, but you saved my life.
